A Passion for Papertrey...

to put it mildly!!!!
Papertrey Ink.... a name that kept popping up in magazines that I bought this summer when I was home in Canada, saw on people blogs, and a highly recommended paper company....
hmmmmmm...
had to check it out!

Glad I did,
my VISA, not so much!!!!!

Anyway,
I have fallen in love with a lot of their sets, esp. love the take note set and the idea of makng notebooks!
I write everything down... have to... a trait I inherited from my Father called the "Paper Brain" in our family!

So what better to accompany my Paper Brain then these totally fab notebooks I can make myself!!!!

the picture pretty much sums up the last few days at my house...
lots of coffee and mince pies!
With weather we are having in Ireland at the moment, I have little choice... lol!
It's still snowing as I write!!
I have two craft fairs {outside} this weekend that I am pretty sure won't be happening...

I used the Take Note set, Friendship Jar set, and the Warm Happiness Too set...
AND there fab dies!!!!

Here are some of the others I have made...

and some pics of the little ones enjoying the snow.....

Tutorial I did for the Some Odd Girl Newsletter Jan. 31st, 2011.

Paper Piecing Tutorial by Robin F
Hi all, Thought I would show you {or just remind you} a fun way of having your image
match your papers! When we are starting out, we usually don't have all the
Copic colours of the rainbow and this is an easy way to match up colours
without breaking the bank!
First I printed off the paper of my choice and then printed my image over
 top of the patterned paper. You don't have to use digital paper;
most designer papers will be perfect to print your digital image over
 {printer depending}!

I cut out the piece I was using with some decoupage scissors.

Then I glued the piece onto the image before I coloured it. {You can colour first
and then glue the paper piece, the choice is yours!}

Colour your image, or you could paper piece as much as you desire….

Cut out your fabulous Some Odd Girl image,
pop it on a card and blog it for all the world to see!!!

Thanks so much Robin for that fabulous tutorial!

WOYWW!!!

Well,
I am hoping I am at the end of a nasty tummy bug that the family has had the pleasure of over the Halloween break...
but what better way to cheer myself up then an early birthday parcel from Papertrey Ink! First time I ordered from them... isn't the packaging fab!!
I think the post man thought I would kiss him... although I wouldn't risk passing on the bug.. he he!

BUT

first I have to finish cleaning up after the mess that we created at the 70's Murder Mystery Party
we had on Saturday night!!
Funny pic of me and hubby, huh?

It was one of those days.....
we both felt sick as dogs, the water stopped working (bursted mains), and halfway thought the night the ipod froze!!
Anything that could go wrong... did.... but because the costumes were such fun we all had a blast!!!!!
And even better... I don't think any of the guests even realized any of this was going on behind the scenes!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!!!!

Robin

don't forget you can join the fun of WOYWW here!
